Four years before he died, after his second stroke, Mollison whispered to me: ‘Don’t waste your breath trying to convert conventional growers or consumers to organic.’
‘Why?’, I asked naively.
‘Only a crisis can do that,’ he responded with a raspy cough, fist hitting the arm of his wheelchair.
I get a lot of questions..ranging from why conventional sweetcorn is particularly dangerous to kids health in New Zealand, to ‘I just bought a off grid property and feel so overwhelmed I could cry, please help!’.
Just yesterday I spent 30 mins with one (awesome) Bliss Box customer who recently fled Auckland to a rural property and didn’t know where to find healthy organic livestock.
Most people don’t know I used to be a permaculture designer and teacher. Or that I’ve managed the founder of permaculture’s farm in Tasmania.
Anyways, I thought you might appreciate it if I shared my tips publicly.
So let me know what’s on your mind.
Seriously, ask me anything.
I’ll answer as candidly as I know how.
Wishing you a healthy start to March.
